"The Harrah school gym is unique because it is constructed of poured concrete. This is a two-story gym building with a barrel roof. The building is painted white and the windows have been covered with metal siding painted blue. Only a couple of window units have a small window remaining. "The building was constructed in 1939-1940 with a WPA appropriation of $84,078. A brick extension has been added to the gym on both the east and west sides. The building appears to still be in use."

In 1939, the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, i.e., the Public Works Administration (PWA), funded the construction of a bridge connecting Ocean and Colorado Avenues with the famous Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA. The historic former post office building in Riverton, New Jersey was constructed with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which was constructed in 1939, is now privately owned.

The historic Shelton, Connecticut post office was constructed in 1939 with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which houses an example of New Deal artwork, is still in service.
