The Public Works Administration (PWA) contributed funding for the construction of a sea wall in Lahaina, Maui, during the 1930s. The PWA gave a grant of $8,184 and the cost of the completed project was $18,186. The project was begun and completed in 1938. The exact location of this sea wall is unclear; several parts of Lahaina possess a sea wall, including along Front Street. Greenwich, Connecticut's town incinerator was constructed with the assistance of federal Public Works Administration funds during the 1930s. The structure, which served from 1938 to 1977, has since been demolished. The land now constitutes part of Christiano Park. PWA Docket No. CT 1278 provided a grant of $72,192 to the town for the incinerator's construction, which covered much of the project's $169,914 final cost. Construction started in March 1938 and was completed in November of that year.

The rock fire station was constructed as federal National Youth Administration (NYA) project 4686-Y-10 in May 1938.

One of two buildings constructed by the WPA in the African American community of Oak Grove, the gymnasium is "...an example of a simple but handsomely balanced design which reveals the skill of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) workers" (Story, 1990). The school principal from 1932-1935, Mr. Vines, received a grant to use WPA labor to construct a home economics cottage. Bethel, Connecticut's town hall (also known as the Clifford J. Hurgen Municipal Center) was originally constructed as the town's high school; its construction was enabled by the assistance of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds during the 1930s. According to Wikipedia, "A new building was built in 1939 on what later became School Street, and additions to its main building were made over the next few years. The Bronx General Post Office contains superb examples of New Deal art, added in 1938-39 under the Treasure Section of Fine Arts program.  Inside are 13 mural panels by Ben Shahn and his wife, Bernarda;  on the exterior wall, flanking the entrance, are  two limestone sculptures by Charles Rudy and Henry Kreis.  On the left, as one faces the building, is "Noah" by Rudy; on the right, "The Letter" by Kreis. The CCC completed nine identical family cabins between 1938 and 1939. The cabins are typical of CCC construction, and represent the movement in recreational developed in the 1930s toward promoting group and family camping.

In 1938, the Public Works Administration, which had dam construction projects along the Colorado River in Texas, proposed the establishment of a federal fish hatchery in the area to provide fish for the newly created lakes. Congressman Lyndon B. Johnson arranged an agreement between the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries and the National Youth Administration (NYA) to construct the hatchery. The NYA established a camp at Inks Dam in 1938 and began construction of the fish hatchery in 1939.
