In 1933-34, New Deal relief workers built trails in Lincoln Park. We do not know exactly which ones, but the work almost certainly included the stone-lined steps down to the beach – which are classic New Deal stonework -- and the picnic shelter looks typical of that era, as well (but may well have been rebuilt over time). A photo from the University of Washington digital collections shows workmen constructing a trail along a steep hillside (see below). The caption on the photo says, "State of Wash., E.R.A. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Recreation Center was used as a library and mess hall. It was abandoned after the CCC camp relocated. Works Progress Administration (WPA) workers remodeled the building and created a nature museum. The nature museum opened up to the public in 1936.

Some of these buildings may pre-date the New Deal, but between 1933 and 1939, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) engaged in considerable lumber milling activity while encamped here, and weekly built some of the sheds, at least (They built lumber sheds in a hundred of other state forests: Mogen-Monroe, Jackson, Harrison.) Some of the buildings may be post-WWII. They are difficult to document.

Coudersport, Pennsylvania's historic Potter County Courthouse "was renovated by the Civil Works Administration in the winter of 1933–34."

Nashville's former main post office was built in 1933-34 by the Treasury Department's Office of Construction (later the Office of Procurement).  The enormous structure, filling a city block, was constructed in a record 18 months. The design by architects Marr and Holman is a distinctive "stripped" classicism exterior design (often simply called Classical Moderne). The exterior is white Georgia marble with gray-pink Minnesota granite. The interior is done in the Art Deco Style with cast aluminum doors and grillwork, colored marble and stone on floors and walls. Extensive remnants of Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp, constructed between 1933 and 1938; concrete foundations, roadbeds, ditches, excavations- overgrown and with a more recent pared road bisecting the area. This site encompasses a larger area and more extensive remnants than are usually found at such locations, perhaps become, as evidence indicate, there were two companies encompassed here. (At one point there was a third company, but scant evidence indicates, its camp was elsewhere, along Anderson Road)

The historic former post office building in New Castle, Pennsylvania was constructed with federal Treasury Department funds in 1933. The building is now privately owned. "The primary razing of the old properties commenced in January 1933 and the construction phase got underway soon after. The new Post Office Building, designed by the architectural firm of W. G. These shelters were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), designed  in park rustic style by Denzel Doggett. One was constructed in 1933, the other between 1935 and 1936.

At peak enrollment, 4,300 workers from 23 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps located in the Smoky Mountains constructed the roads, trails, bridges, campgrounds and structures of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The project was undertaken between 1933 and 1940.

Fort Niobrara NWR - Valentine NE Fort Niobrara Wildlife Refuge was established by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1912 by Executive Order.  The principal aim was to protect bison and elk herds which had dwindled almost to extinction under the pressure of market hunting in the 19th century.  It was created out of the old frontier Fort Niobrara and today covers almost 20,000 acres of grasslands and riparian forest in Nebraska.
