The Bangor Daily News covered some extensive sewer line construction in the northern town of Fort Kent in the initial CWA jobs program of 1933. December 4: "OVER 100 EMPLOYED ON CWA SEWER PROJECT More than a hundred men are now digging ditches for the new sewer project as Fort Kent's share of the federal relief program. The New Deal was involved in improvements to the school system in the small mill town of Brownville and Brownville Junction. According to the 1933 town report, the town paid its share of $1,064.32 for materials for a Civil Works Administration (CWA) school project. The school superintendent reported that the  CWA requested a school project and school officials asked for an enlargement of the Brownville Junction High gymnasium. The CWA paid for all labor and $626.00 for materials. May 1934 was the planned completion date when the CWA was liquidated. As part of the initial Civil Works Administration (CWA) jobs effort in Dover Foxcroft was the construction of 4 sewer lines on Fairview, Morton, Harrison Avenues and Pearl St. $12,618 was spent by the CWA and 90 men were put to work in the town in December on various public works.

In 1933, the Public Works Administration allotted $10,000 (about $203,000 in 2020 dollars) for the construction of three small schools on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation (home of five Shoshone-Bannock Tribes), one of which was the Lincoln Creek Day School. The schools were completed in 1935 and described by Rosalie Springfellow in early 1936: “Three fine school buildings have been erected on the reservation: one at Lincoln Creek, one at Ross Fork and one on Bannock Creek. The Civil Works Administration (CWA) built the Artic Brook Sewer in Bangor ME. The 1934 town report notes: "The Arctic Brook sewer was enclosed from Broadway to Kenduskeag Stream, or a distance of 2600 feet, by a 36 inch sewer, at a cost of $51,530." According to earlier articles, during December, 169 men plus a foreman and blacksmith were employed on the project. A typical pay week would bring $2,153 to the men. In 1933-1934, Civilian Conservation Corps workers built several wood frame buildings to serve as the Ochoco National Forest's Supervisor's Warehouse or Lamonta Compound. Exemplifying the rustic architectural style developed by the US Forest Service's Pacific Northwest Region, the three structures included an office/warehouse, maintenance shop, and oil and gas house.
