Description
The Works Progress Administration built Sijan Field in Milwaukee WI in 1937. Today, the facility serves as the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Recreation Division Playfield. It is used for baseball and soccer.
Source notes
Sijan Playfield has a fieldhouse whose eastern side (facing the street) has a WPA placque. It reads "City of Milwaukee WPA 1937".
The wooden sign put in place by the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Recreation Division refers to "Sijan Playfield". However, it is also called "Sijan Playground" and "Sijan Park".
