Appleton (West) High School has served as a high school in Appleton, WI since September, 1938. It was built by the Works Progress Administration.

PWA funds paid for the part of the building and built-in equipment–$393,750.
WPA developed the school’s athletic fields valued at $72,000.
The remaining funds for the project were paid for by a local bond issue–a little over $500,000
