Description
The Public Works Administration (PWA) announced a number of projects in May 1937 which were designed to improve or eliminate conditions in schools that might be regarded as hazardous to students’ lives. Weeping Water was given a grant of $49,594.00 toward a total project cost of $107,000.00 to try to alleviate safety hazards by building a new school. The project began in August 1938 and was completed in September of 1939.
The exact location and status of this project is presently unknown to Living New Deal.
