Description
According to a Works Progress Administration index card $1,580 was spent to “Improve cemetery on Elm Avenue south of Easton in Fresno County. Work to include trimming, clearing and removing trees, landscaping and grading, together with work incidental thereto. The sponsor is a political subdivision of the state. In addition to projects specifically approved. Washington Colony Cemetery District owned property.” The sponsors contribution was $306. The job was begun Dec. 17, 1936, took 2 months to complete and employed 12 people.

The cemetery is really nice it is always very clean an well kepted the Lady in the office was kind to us she helped me find my grandpas grave “Boatner Matthews” I was thankfull to her now I go put things on Boatner sight that I think he would Like, I seen that some parts were really dark at night so I took alotta solor lights an put them on a fue stones in the cematary so it will have a lil light at night put flowers also, one night I went out to put christmas things up it was 1:30am onley time I could go, it was so quiet then I heard Indians singing an chanting I heard sounds of a team of horses running an indians hollering but there was no one was there, I didn’t get scared I finished up an left, washington colony cemetery is a nice place Just saying, ( I wonder if others had heard any thing like I did, mabe who knows,
