Description
“Wyoming schools also benefited from the WPA Federal Art Project [WPA/FAP], which was responsible for a number of murals painted inside the buildings. Although the list of school murals is incomplete, it includes four panels in the Torrington High School auditorium executed by Ernest Stevens of Van Tassell …”
“The Torrington panels were removed from the old high school when it was sold by the district and were cleaned, restored and installed in the new high school building around 2005.”

I was class of ’87 (moved to Torrington in ’85). Class of ’86 was the first class to go to the ‘new’ high school freshman through senior year, so the ‘new’ high school would have opened fall of ’82. The murals were already cleaned and installed in the student commons by the time I started attending in ’85, not 2005.
