Description
Rio Grande City, Texas’s historic Moderne-style Starr County Courthouse was constructed as a federal Public Works Administration (PWA) project during the Great Depression. The building is still in use today.
The PWA supplied a $64,000 loan and $52,363 grant toward the $116,783 total cost of the project. Work occurred between September 1938 and April 1939.
