Description
This series of seven oil-on-canvas murals, painted by Xavier Gonzalez in 1937 and entitled “Strawberry Farming,” were hung in the post office until 1970, when they were moved to Southeaster Louisiana University.
“Much of Gonzalez’s work was commissioned by the Treasury Section of Painting and Sculpture… and its smaller affiliate, the Treasury Relief Art Project (TRAP).” (knowla.org)
