Description
The Works Progress Administration (WPA) improved a segment of Skyland Drive, from Twenty-fifth Street to Wagner Place.
WPA workers graded this road, and also “placed old broken concrete and Macadam, for a depth of approximately seven inches, as a base source. This material was then rolled and covered with a bituminous material by [District of Columbia] maintenance forces […] The completion of [this project] formed a necessary adjunct to the large private development in this vicinity.”
