Description
Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) labor constructed sidewalks in Whitman, Massachusetts. WPA Bulletin, from the Brockton Enterprise:
Work will start Tuesday on the construction of a new sidewalk on the easterly side of Pleasant street from South avenue to the Reed school and the residents of East Whitman, who have watched the re-building of new sidewalk on the westerly side now nearly completed to Lazel street, express the wish that the same employees continue on their job with the same foremen in charge.
It is the unanimous opinion of the residents in that part of the town that this improvement has been made in the most satisfactory manner. The men appear to take as much interest in their work as if they were employed on their own premises.
