Description
A former Mattawamkeag school building opened in 1939. Constructed as a New Deal project, the facility was built with Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. The PWA provided a $27,000 grant for the project, whose total cost was $59,264. Unfortunately, “the solid two-story brick structure was leveled by fire in May 1971.”
