    According to an article in the Santa Barbara Morning Press, Jan. 31, 1937, p. 5, the mural in the Veterans Memorial Building on Cabrillo Blvd. depicting peacetime pursuits (sometimes titled “Men at Work”) was done by Joseph Knowles, not Vaughan. Vaughan did create the mural on the opposite wall which shows a WWI scene.
