Description
The federal Work Projects Administration worked to improve roads and sidewalks in Lindenhurst, New York during the 1930s. One project, which cost $21,806 (for which the WPA allocated $14,211) was described by the WPA in its project rolls:
“Improve North Wellwood, South Wellwood, West Hoffman and East Hoffman Avenues … including constructing sidewalks, curbs and gutters; removing trees;” and performing related work.
