Description
“In an effort toward economic recovery, Hemingford took advantage of the federally instituted New Deal programs. In 1935, at a total cost of $1,232, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) improved the streets of Hemingford with crushed rock on Niobrara Avenue, Ogallala Avenue, Custer Street, and Cheyenne Avenue.”
