Description
The City of Barre relied greatly on multiple federal relief programs for the improvement and development of its street network during the Great Depression. Such included reconstruction, grading, paving. Work also included related safety measures such as the construction of retaining walls and guard rails.
The National Youth Administration (N.Y.A.) contributed by landscaping streets.
