I am a retired Postmaster of the Plymouth PA Post Office and I was in charge when this mural was restored. Some interesting facts about the mural are:
The painter, Jared French was gay and liked to paint nude men.
If you look closely you will see that he very cleverly hid a nude man in the background standing in a boat on the right side of the mural.
It is my understanding that this is the only nude in any of the postal murals.
Also, someone had mentioned that he may have painted another nude mural in another federal building and was told at the time that he would have to paint clothes on the nude.
If you visit the site of this mural, there is a notice on the wall near the painting with additional information on the artist.
Wow! Great find. Thank you!
