Description
This post office houses a New Deal mural, “Hollanders Settle in Pella,” depicting Pella’s founder, Dominie Scholte, leading his people to Pella from the Netherlands. The mural was painted by Byron B. Boyd in 1938 with funds provided by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts.

I have a question about the mural at the Pella pi’s office. Shouldn’t the pictures of the old world in the Netherlands and the new world in America be reversed? The people are standing in the bow of the ship crossing the ocean going from the east to the west so the Netherlands should be on the right and America on the left?
