Peter Burnett Elementary School – Long Beach CA

Description

SERA demolished the old school (which had been ruined by the 1933 earthquake), and the WPA built a new one-story flat roof steel frame classroom, total area of 19,000 square feet.

The building was divided into classrooms and equipped with modern facilities.

    Went to this school way back in 1960. 5th & 6th grades. I see the name was changed, so much for maintaining historical namesake. Should of named the cafeteria or auditorium for Smith. I also see this is a K-5th grade what happened to the 6th??
    Have not lived in LB since grad from Poly in 69 so I’m a tad outta touch of all the changes
