O'Bannon Woods State Park Fire TowerO'Bannon Woods State Park Fire TowerThe Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed fire towers on steel frameworks to help protect the new plantings and existing forests. The fire tower at O’Bannon State Park was completed in 1937 by CCC laborers. The steel tower replaced a temporary, 55′ wooden tower. The fire tower stands around 100′ tall with 9 flights of stairs within the tower.
