Description
The Works Progress Administration built the National Guard Armory in Gadsden.
The armory was located between Riverside Drive and Cherry Street east of South 1st Street, north of Hughes Cemetery, and has since been demolished.

The Google earth photo shows the location of the current National Guard army in Attalla, Alabama. The 1937 structure was located on First Avenue in Gadsden, between the current City Hall complex and Riverside Hospital.
It’s located between Gadsden City Hall and Hughes Family Cemetery River View Hospital not River Side is on the other side of the cemetery.
