My uncle used to be the station keeper in the 60’s and early 70’s. He and his family lived in an apartment that was inside the building. There used to be two cannons mounted out front on static display. There is a firing range in the basement of this building. I visited it on 4/30/22 and had a tour of the building and grounds. It is in good shape for its age.
