Description
The 1933 town report notes $1,712.05 spent by the town on an unspecified CWA road project.
The 1934 town report lists a small contribution by the town toward unspecified CWA and FERA road and bridge projects.
The 1935 town report mentions a loan of $11,000 from the PWA for a building fund. The warrant section says “Art. 20. To see what action the Town will vote to take as to the use of its P. W. A. School House Building Loan.”
The 1936 report lists a “WPA State Aid Bridge” $1,066 by Maine, $544 by the town, and $614 by a joint fund from last year.
“Expended on W.P.A. Road, $1,357.67” and 16 employed.
The 1935 PWA loan is listed under NEW SCHOOL HOUSE which was dedicated on December 17 with a large ceremony.
The 1937 report says “With the amount unexpended last year from the appropriation for the West Peru Building it was possible to complete the grading of the grounds, to make a beautiful lawn in front of the schoolhouse, to seal and paint all the floors in the basement and to give all the wood work in the class rooms, hall and stairways a second coat. In addition many minor improvements were made.”
The 1939 report mentions a request for assistance from the WPA for Blister Rust control.
