Description
Ellwood City, Pennsylvania’s historic Municipal Building was constructed during the Great Depression with the aid of federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funds. (Credit is sometimes incorrectly given to the Works Progress Administration (WPA).) The PWA provided a $58,959 grant for the project, whose total cost was $131,535. Construction occurred between May 1936 and June 1937.
