Description

The federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) worked to develop San Francisco’s Mountain Lake Park during the Great Depression. Examples:

Repairs like Lombard, consisting of landscaping, building 2 new tennis courts and walks and horseshoe courts; also provided a shelter for card playing for the older people.–Healy, p. 56.
