Description
Nathaniel Morton Elementary School in Plymouth, Massachusetts was constructed as the town’s high school, part of a New Deal project. The federal Public Works Administration (P.W.A.) supplied a sizable grant of $138,150 for the project, whose total cost was $327,666. Construction began at the end of Dec. 1935 and was completed Jan. 1937. The building bears a massive ‘cornerstone’ atop the main entrance that reads 1936.
