Description
Originally constructed as a high school, what is now Micaville Elementary School was built in 1936* with assistance from the Works Progress Administration (WPA); it was one of five schools built by the WPA in Yancey County, North Carolina.
* While one source cites 1938, an inscription on the building states 1936.
