Description
The Big Timber Pioneer newspaper reported:
“A crew of 16 WPA workers, E. H. Ellingson foreman, started last week on improvement of the Settlement road, leading west from Melville. It was one of the worst roads in the county when bad, and when the work is complete it will carry a gravel surface.”
The road leading west from Melville, Route 371, is now known as Melville Road.
