Description
“United States Marine Corps Airbase—The completion during the year of a P.W.A. project for the construction of a Marine Corps airbase at Lindbergh Bay estate has been important both because it has given employment to local labor and because it has established a permanent base for the marine unit stationed at St. Thomas. Extensive aviation maneuvers were carried on in the winter months using this newly established air field as a base. Further maneuvers are planned for the coming year, and it is believed that the facilities at Lindbergh Bay will continue to attract similar activities in the future which are of considerable economic importance to the community.”
