Description

CCC crews built this small recreational lake on Mill Creek in Mark Twain National Forest in 1940. It is at least partially spring-fed and tends to be clear. The dam has a simple concrete spillway. In addition to the lake, the project consisted of a trail around the lake, a campground, and picnic ground.

  1. Do you know when that ‘marker’ was actually placed? I read that it was placed in the 60’s but I do not think it was not there in 1975. The marker was placed where campers played baseball, disrupting the field so we couldn’t play anymore. My kids were baseball age after 1968-71 and we played for many years on our annual camping trips (since 1962) … that’s why I remember that “that hated marker” LOL

    My husband and I recently visited Loggers Lake he had been there as a boy in boyscouts at the age of 14. He has always talked about it for the 44 years we have been married so we went on a journey to visit it this past Saturday. It is a very nice little lake and we plan to return for a camping trip this summer. He is now 74
