Description

The fresco “A Visit to the Jungle” (medium: casein tempera on plaster), measures 5’6″ x 17’6″ and was commissioned by the New Deal’s Federal Art Project. The mural is housed in the Jane Addams Elementary School library.

    I was the principal of Jane Adams Elementary School in Long Brach, California for eight years during the 1990s. Our students, staff, and community celebrated the wonderful mural in our school library. We were very proud of it, and it helped the history of our school and our nation come alive for all of us. It was precious to all.
