This border station is commonly called “Beebe Plain” by both local residents and border inspection agencies. Until 1972, there was a Customs office in downtown Newport that performed inspections for travelers entering the US via roads that had no inspection station, or when border stations such as Beebe Plain were closed for the evening.

Actually, I found that there is already a New Deal project called “Beebe Plain VT” with the same coordinates, so this one can be deleted.
