Description
The Works Progress Administration built an armory in Greenville circa 1938.
The structure is currently used as the Butler County Extension Office. The front has been altered to add a portico, but the structure of the original armory and fenestration remain visible. Newspaper items indicate the construction was completed “first of the year” in 1937 although it was still under construction April 1937. The supervisor of construction was Marion Riley.
