The Works Progress Administration built the Frances School Gymnasium in 1938. The gym is a 102′ x 60′ balloon frame building sitting on a poured concrete foundation. It has steel beams supporting the roof and the exterior is clad in wood weatherboard.
The building is still used by the school system and community and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 1, 1993.
