Arcadia Forest Service HeadquartersConnolly, Donald H. and G. I. Farman. Report of Accomplishment of the Operations Division. Works Progress Administration, Southern California. January 1, 1939.
What is today the U.S. Forest Service headquarters in Arcadia was the site of a U.S. Agriculture Department warehouse constructed by the WPA. Project number 9044 was built with $4,834 in federal funds and $1,973 in sponsor contributions. It employed an average number of 29 men per month for 7 months.
It is unknown if the warehouse is still being used or was incorporated into the current building since the style of architecture of the original warehouse and the current HQ are very similar. The photo in the book is listed as a US Forest Service warehouse and the job description says U.S. Agriculture Dept.
