Description
The WPA approved $8,089 toward the construction of the $18,000 city market. The building was constructed of native stone, 80×120 feet, with 18 foot walls, concrete floor, and metal roof. The purpose was to provide space for the fall fair, storage space for peanuts, and a public market for farmers’ produce. The building is currently used for community events.
