Online Exhibit: The New Deal in New York City, 1933—1943 at the Roosevelt House

Deborah Gardner, a founding member of the Living New Deal New York City Chapter’s Working Group, and Roosevelt House Historian, curated an exhibit at the Roosevelt House.

The stand behind it is holding a galvanized iron water tank and the black unit on the side of the tank is a gas fired water heater with copper pipes inside. There was no safety or pilot system. This family moved to the Kingsborough Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant in 1941.
