  • Post Office (former) Sculpture - Burlingame CA
    The cast stone sculpture "The Letter," by James Hansen, was completed in 1941 with Treasury Section of Fine Arts funds. The sculpture can be found in the front of the historic former post office in Burlingame. This building and its artwork has been incorporated into a new adaptive reuse project at 220 Park Rd.
  • Post Office (former) Sculpture - Canton NC
    The historic New Deal post office in Canton, North Carolina is privately owned. This terra cotta sculpture "Paper," created by Sam Bell, was funded by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. It still hangs in the building lobby today.
  • Post Office (former) Sculpture - Weirton WV
    "Pony Express and Rural Delivery" This bas relief, cast stone sculpture, unveiled in 1940 by Vincent Glinsky for the Treasury Section of Fine Arts is at the site of the former Weirton Post Office. The post office moved out of the building in the 1960s and it has remained vacant.

    The old Toms River post office, located at 40 Washington St., housed an example of New Deal artwork: "Boating on Barnegat Bay," a sculpture created by Milton Hebald in 1941. The work was commissioned by the federal Treasury Section of Fine Arts. Unfortunately the whereabouts of the sculpture are presently unknown.

    Oscar E. Berninghaus painted this Section of Fine Arts oil-on-canvas mural entitled "Border Gateways" in 1937 in the Fort Scott federal courthouse. As of 2007, the federal court room was empty. Access was possible with permission from the post office, housed downstairs. This work is a placid scene showing settlers travelling into the Kansas Territory as a result of the “Enabling Act of Kansas Territory” in 1854.   • Post Office and Courthouse Mural - Athens GA
    "Spring in Georgia" by artist Andree Ruellan was painted in 1942, with funding from the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. The mural was originally installed in the Lawrenceville, GA post office.     An oil-on-canvas mural entitled "Marquette Exploring Shores of Lake Superior" was painted by Dewey Albinson and installed in the new U.S. Post Office and Federal Courthouse in Marquette, Michigan in 1938.  The mural measures 4’8” x 15’.

    "On the Range," a painted wood carving, was created in 1941 by Enid Bell for the then-new Hereford post office with funding from the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. In 1967, a contractor remodeling the post office took this piece home. The GSA tracked it down but kept it in storage for years. It was returned to Hereford in 1973, and "On the Range" is once again housed at the post office. It can be found in the inner, retail lobby.
