The historic Stoughton, Wisconsin post office was constructed in 1938 with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which houses an example of New Deal artwork, is still in service.

"Air Mail Service"

The historic Stoughton, Wisconsin post office houses an example of New Deal artwork: an oil-on-canvas mural entitled “Air Mail Service,” painted by Edmund D. Lewandowski in 1940. The work was commissioned by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts.
