Taft City Park – CA
Taft city park north of the High School and junior college complex was created by the WPA. This most likely refers to the Ford City Park at 609 Cedar St., Taft, CA.
Kern County Fire Stations – CA
Kern County received $600,000 in federal funds for a fire station in each of five cities: Delano, Fellows, Woody, Maricopa and East Bakersfield. Mojave and Taft also received WPA fire stations.
McKittrick Civic Center – CA
McKittrick received an adobe civic center from the New Deal. Exact location and current status unknown.
Arvin Miscellaneous Projects – CA
The WPA built an adobe civic center and the Kern County Free Library, as well as Community, Health and Welfare buildings in Arvin. They also built a grammar school.
Kern County Roadwork – CA
WPA aided in culvert-style bridge over Dry Creek Canal, Blackstone & Olive St.
Kern County Building – CA
Kern County Building in Delano on Lexington Street, adobe with red tile roofs. Not known whether building is still extant.
Fellows Fire Building – CA
Adobe fire building on Broadway across from Fellows Park at the west end of Fellows, CA. The structure was constructed with WPA labor at a cost of $9800. Not known whether building is still extant.
