Clearfield hosted the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot during WWII. Thus, their schools were full to bursting, and not only was Wasatch Elementary built for the Davis County School District, but several other "Emergency Schools" were built in local war housing projects. Wasatch Elementary cost about $120,000 (FWA Project Utah 42-189N). Only 10 years later - as the result of the Hill Air Force Base constuction - Wasatch was again over capacity (500 students in a building built for 300). Additions were needed, and finally in 2012, the building was demolished and replaced with a new Wasatch Elementary at the same location.

The US Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay at the end of the Samoa Peninsula across from Eureka, Calif0rnia was built in 1936-37 as a federal military project, with the aid of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and its relief workforce. (HABS, p. 17) The structure replaced a considerably smaller station built in 1878, known as the Humboldt Bay Life-Saving Station. This was part of a nationwide effort to upgrade Coast Guard facilities during the administration of Franklin Roosevelt (as ardent sailor and Undersecretary of the Navy in the early 1920s). Seventy-Fifth Street Elementary, which opened in 1922, was rebuilt with a grant from the Public Works Administration (PWA). The work was done sometime in 1934-35. In January 1934, the PWA allocated $9,380,000 to the Los Angeles Unified School District for the rehabilitation of schools damaged in the severe 1933 Long Beach earthquake.  One hundred and thirty schools would benefit from the system-wide loan and grant, with 2,500 men to be employed in rehabilitation work over 21 months. The Sepulveda Dam in Van Nuys, California (in the San Fernando Valley) was constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1941 as part of an enormous flood-control project on the Los Angeles River, following the latest major flood on the river in January 1934.  The work was done under the auspices of a general flood risk management plan and contract between the Army Corps of Engineers, the Los Angeles County Flood Control District (LACFCD), and the WPA to deal with flooding on the three main rivers in Los Angeles County. This fireproof structure replaced makeshift quarters previously occupied and that had been subjected to much criticism. Here the impounded animals could be kept in comfort until humanly destroyed or claimed (from Jessen). The local Civil Works Administration contributed $2206.10 against a total project estimate of $4627.30. The building has since been demolished.

Originally the high school gymnasium, built in 1924, now a city recreation facility. Improved by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), including extensive repairs after the disastrous flood of 1937.

Stitt Pavilion was constructed by the Works Progress Administration in 1938. Still in use.

The park features a Works Progress Administration (WPA) shelter protecting sandstone petroglyphs. The petroglyphs are thought to have been created by the Fort Ancient people. The WPA completed other work at the site.
