• Ridgeway Elementary School - Columbia MO
    The New Deal funded an addition to Ridgeway Elementary in 1934.  While the plaque says the money came from a "Federal Public Works Project", that would be an early name for the Public Works Administration (PWA). The new eastern wing echoed the brick gothic design of the original building.     Ridgeway Elementary is today a magnet school for the Columbia area.
  • Pasteur School Murals - Chicago IL
    Artist Lucile Ward painted two extensive friezes for the Pasteur School in 1937, with funding from the WPA Federal Art Project. "Numbers" is a 2'6" high frieze covering four walls of Room 112. "The Alphabet" (4′ high) covers all four walls of the kindergarten room.

    The historic post office in Teague, Texas was constructed with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which was constructed in 1936, is still in use today.
  • Federal Office Building - New York NY
    The Federal Office Building at 90 Church Street was constructed between 1934 and 1935 by the Treasury Department Public Buildings Bureau, and includes the Church Street Station Post Office. A multi-story addition on top of the building was completed a few years later. It occupies the entire city block bounded by between Church Street and West Broadway and Vesey and Barclay Streets. The architecture spans neo-Classical and Art Deco styles and was designed by a team of Cross & Cross, Pennington, Lewis & Mills, under the direction of Louis A.
