The Works Progress Administration (WPA) constructed an office wing for a school on Tamarind Ave. in Compton, CA. The school was likely Lincoln Elementary School, which closed in 1989 and has since been demolished.

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) improved the Charles H. Lee Elementary School building(s) and graded/leveled the grounds.

Farmersville received $47,000 of New Deal funds for an elementary school for migrant workers, according to newspaper reports of the times.  It is unknown where this school was built or if it was at the site of one of the three current elementary schools.   

Kings County Fairgrounds in Hanford received extensive improvements from Works Progress Administration (WPA) workers in the 1930s.  What exactly was done and what remains of the work is unknown.  Photos are of the present fairgrounds.

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) built a firehouse for the Kern County Fire Department in the town of Delano at Jefferson and 12th Avenue. It has since been replaced by Fire Station #34 at the same site. A total of $600,000 in federal funds was spent on fire stations at Delano, Fellows, Woody, Maricopa and East Bakersfield.
