Gray Brechin to Speak at the Mill Valley Public Library Aug 1st at 7:00 PM


Gray Brechin will speak about the public infrastructure built during New Deal at the Mill Valley Public Library on Wednesday, August 1st at 7:00 PM. President Franklin Roosevelt’s public works agencies put millions of Americans to work to extricate the U.S. from economic calamity. The WPA built parks, bridges, or schools in almost every community throughout the United States. Dr. Brechin, author of Imperial San Francisco: Urban Power, Earthly Ruin, will speak about the many artifacts constructed by these workers.
