Duane Conliffe’s gorgeous large-scale photographs depict Sargent Johnson’s New Deal work and were originally commissioned by the Richmond Art Center. Thursday discussions are directed at establishing a permanent display of New Deal art in the Bay Area. Harvey Smith, the president of the National New Deal Preservation Association, will be the host and will interpret his WPA Sawhorse. Jon Golinger will explain the initiative campaign to protect Coit Tower. Duane Conliffe will discuss his work and his interpretation of Johnson (www.DuaneConliffe.com).
