From June 21 to 23, the National Park Service will celebrate its centennial in Santa Fe. “A Century of Design in the Parks: Preserving the Built Environment in National and State Parks,” is sure to be a fascinating symposium, drawing together academics, park rangers, conservationists, architects, and more to discuss the legacy of the national and state parks and to look ahead to the unique challenges they face and opportunities they provide. The Living New Deal’s own Gray Brechin, Susan Ives, and Harvey Smith will present on the New Deal’s role in constructing and conserving many of these sites.
