Clearfield hosted the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot during WWII. Thus, their schools were full to bursting, and not only was Wasatch Elementary built for the Davis County School District, but several other "Emergency Schools" were built in local war housing projects. Wasatch Elementary cost about $120,000 (FWA Project Utah 42-189N). Only 10 years later - as the result of the Hill Air Force Base constuction - Wasatch was again over capacity (500 students in a building built for 300). Additions were needed, and finally in 2012, the building was demolished and replaced with a new Wasatch Elementary at the same location.

The Army Corps of Engineers and the Works Progress Administration (WPA) completed site and infrastructure work at the MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa FL. Formerly known as Southeast Air Force Base, it was originally built to protect American interests in the Caribbean. It quickly was used to train pilots, maintenance personnel, and other technicians to support combat. Its current mission is refueling. The WPA completed initial site work after the land was acquired. The State Emergency Relief Administration (SERA) financed a $25,000 appropriation "which employed 65 research workers out of the Bancroft Library of U.C. Berekey and 56 additional workers put to work in the field to gather the necessary information to provide for the restoration of the old town of Columbia, in Tuolumne County." According to the Mariposa Gazette, efforts were being made in 1934 to have a local Mariposa County ghost town Hornitos being made into a state park in a similar way to what was occurring in Columbia California. The Federal Works Agency built the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston. Like most functioning hospitals, Thomas Memorial Hospital has grown since its original construction, eliminating much of the original design and materials. The footprint of the building can be seen in a 1958 topographic map as an H shape, later morphing and expanding to cover much of the property, including altering some side streets. Characterized by its Art Deco architectural style, Fairfield City Hall still serves as the seat of city government.  It was remodeled in the early 1990s, and the only interior touches of its Art Deco architectural style are the decorative arches over the doorways.  This building received funding from both the city of Fairfield and the Works Progress Administration (WPA).  Mayor Claude Gilley proposed the idea to the city council, and the city purchased the land in April 1941.  The city of Fairfield secured WPA funding in June.  E.B. This mural was painted in 1945 by Thomas Savage in the Eupora, MS post office. He was a farmer from Iowa who excelled in painting farm scenes; in later years he would work as a commercial artist. He did three Treasury Section of Fine Arts murals, one in Jefferson, Iowa, one in New Hampton, Iowa and this lesser known one in Eupora. The title is "Cotton Farm".

Shasta Dam is the keystone of the Central Valley Project, a complex of several dams, reservoirs and canals across Northern California.  It is a high-arch concrete dam over 600 feet high and almost 3,500 feet wide at the top, situated in the former Iron Canyon. At the time it was built, it was the second largest dam in the world, after Grand Coulee on the Columbia River (another New Deal project), and it is still the 8th highest in the United States.  It impounds the largest reservoir in California, with a capacity of 4.5 million acre-feet.
