The historic National Guard armory in Hartsville, South Carolina was constructed by the Work Projects Administration from 1939 to 1940. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

"The Outdoor Theater was built as a gift of the Class of 1915, and designed by one of its members and the university's first architecture graduate, Leon LeGrand. It was built in cooperation with the Work Projects Administration. The Art Deco stage was nearly demolished and replaced in 1977, but protests prompted its renovation and the addition of concrete terraced seating. It is a contributing property to the Clemson University Historic District II (NRHP)."

Mell Hall was constructed as the Clemson post office in 1940; as such its construction was funded by the federal Treasury Department. After postal operations relocated the building became part of the Clemson University campus, and it now serves as Clemson, University's housing office. The building is located just off the southern side of Old Greenville Highway between Riggs Field and Bowman Field.

The historic post office building in Riverside, New Jersey contains a federal Treasury Section of Fine Arts mural. Entitled "The Town of Progress – 1855," the oil-on-canvas mural by John Poehler was completed in 1940.

A. Raymond Katz painted this oil on canvas mural, entitled "Assimilation of the Immigrant into the Industrial Life of Madison," in 1940 with funds provided by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts. It is viewable in the Madison post office mural.

Constructed in 1940 by the Army Corps of Engineers, this dam created the 45,000-acre Lake Wappapello reservoir on the St. Francis River. Constructed with the primary intention of flood control, Lake Wappapello continues to offer recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, and camping to the public.

This two-story Art Deco building adjacent to Cleveland County courthouse was built by the WPA in 1940. It was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 2000 and removed in 2005, apparently when it was demolished. The Cleveland Historical Society intended to refurbish the building as a museum, but was unable to raise the required funds within the designated time.

The NRHP nomination form describes this courthouse as the "...finest extant example of the Art Deco style within the city of Hope, Arkansas. Its horizontal symmetrical massing, set back rooflines and stylized Art Deco ornamentation are all identifying characteristics of the style that became the dominant architectural idiom for Depression-era public works courthouses throughout the state" (Story, 1994). The grand lobby of Borough Hall contains a series of Depression Era bas-reliefs and 13 large murals painted by Frederick Charles Stahr in 1940 under the auspices of the WPA Arts Project. The murals illustrate important events in Staten Island history. With only slight exaggeration, a local source claims that "the murals are the largest and most accessible WPA collection in New York City" (Staten Island USA)  They are, in any case, hugely impressive. The WPA constructed firetowers on steel frameworks to help protect the new plantings and existing forests. The firetower at Tippecanoe River State Park was completed in 1940 by WPA laborers. The firetower stands around 90' tall.
